Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier has been quoted by The Sun as saying that he would love a return to Paris Saint-Germain.
The £23m right back joined Spurs from PSG in 2017, leaving the French giants after making more than 80 appearances in three seasons for them.
Aurier is a regular for Tottenham now, which is something of a turnaround given that he looked like a forgotten man at Spurs back in 2019.
Jose Mourinho has performed great work with Aurier, and whilst he remains a somewhat rash defender at times, he has become a more reliable part of the Spurs side.
Now, Aurier has been quoted as saying that he would love to rejoin Paris, claiming that they are the club closest to his heart.
He claims going back to PSG would be a ‘pleasure’, and he would never reject a return there even though he is ‘very happy’ at Tottenham.
“When I say PSG is the club close to my heart, I don’t want journalists to say, ‘He can’t say that!’ But of course I will answer,” said Aurier. “It’s the club I’ve loved the most out of all the clubs I’ve played for. Paris is where I turned into a man, as a professional, where I discovered myself more. That’s where I enjoyed myself the most.”

“When I was a youngster at Lens, Paris was the club of my heart. One day, it would be no problem at all to go back, with pleasure. I will never turn down an offer from Paris, that is absolutely certain. If ever it comes up, why not? If it doesn’t, I’m very happy where I am and things are going well for me,” he added.
This story may take a surprise twist, as Mauricio Pochettino is set to become the new PSG boss according to Fabrizio Romano, following Thomas Tuchel’s exit.
Pochettino signed Aurier but then left him out for large parts of 2019, so just whether he want to bring him back to the French capital remains to be seen.
