Rangers winger Serge Atakayi may need a loan move in January.

Rangers are thriving under Steven Gerrard, with a host of players impressing thanks to the ex-Liverpool man’s input at Ibrox.
Existing players such as Ross McCrorie, James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos are flourishing, and Gerrard’s raft of new signings are largely justifying why they were brought to Glasgow.
One of the main success stories so far has been winger Glenn Middleton, who is showing rapid progression under Gerrard and has been a superb impact substitute so far.
The 18-year-old, signed earlier this year by Graeme Murty, looks set for a huge future, but he has already overtaken Serge Atakayi at Ibrox – and it may be time for the Finn to move out on lona.
Snapped up by Mark Warburton in 2016, Atakayi arrived at Rangers with a burgeoning reputation after trials with Premier League clubs, and fans have been excited about his future for some time.
Atakayi, 19, is still waiting for his first-team debut though, and two years on from his switch from FF Jaro, a loan move in January to give him exposure to senior football may be ideal for his development.

The pacey wide man has a bright future, but having been overtaken by Middleton already despite him being a year younger, Atakayi needs to go and show what he can do.
A move to Greenock Morton under compatriot and former Rangers coach Jonatan Johansson may be ideal, giving him a taste of Scottish football, but the Gers can’t forget about Atakayi even with Middleton showing that he is the future for Rangers out wide, as Atakayi can still become a star in his own right as well.
