Gareth Bale has not been in great form for Tottenham Hotspur this season, but the Real Madrid-owned winger was on fire on Thursday evening.

Bale, signed on loan from Madrid in the summer of 2020, started for Tottenham in their Europa League game against Wolfsberger.

The 31-year-old winger had a brilliant game on a personal level, as Spurs won the Round of 32 first-leg tie 4-1.

The Wales International provided the assist for Son Heung-min’s goal in the 13th minute, and he himself found the back of the net in the 28th minute with a wonderful effort.

Former Tottenham star Micky Hazard was stunned by Bale’s goal, and was so ex-Spurs striker Darren Bent, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports and talkSPORT.

Encouraging for Gareth Bale

Bale’s performance and goal on Thursday evening will be hugely encouraging for the Tottenham winger.

The Madrid-owned star has not been playing well this season and has struggled for playing time, but he could now be getting into form.

With Tottenham entering the business end of the season, Bale could prove to be a big player for the team in the coming weeks and months.
