Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has praised Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.

The former Manchester United defender has said on Sky Sports Football (10:15pm, May 15, 2023) that Roberto Firmino has been “sensational” for Liverpool over the years.

The Sky Sports pundit has said that the Brazilian has been the unsung hero for Liverpool during his time at Anfield.

Firmino is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season.

There are strong rumours that the 31-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, will leave the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League champions when his current deal runs out.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has publicly said that Firmino is leaving.

Neville said: “I thought Firmino was sensational for years. I thought he was the one who was the unsung hero out of the front three.

“He was sensational in bringing everything together and glueing midfield with attack.”

Roberto Firmino a Liverpool great

In our view, Roberto Firmino is a genuine Liverpool great who helped the Reds to great success.

The Reds would not have won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League under Klopp without the Brazilian in the team.

Now, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah got the plaudits and the headlines, but Firmino continued to do his job without any fuss.

There have been injury problems for the Liverpool star in recent years, and you could say that he is not the player he was anymore.

Firmino will leave Liverpool a genuine great.

The Brazilian has scored 80 goals and created 66 big chances in 254 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
