Miguel Almiron netted his seventh Premier League goal of the campaign as Newcastle United hammered Aston Villa this afternoon.
Eddie Howe’s side secured a 4-0 drubbing to stay fourth in the table against a poor Aston Villa outfit who lost goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to injury in the first half.
The Paraguay international has possibly been Newcastle’s best player this season, with six goals in recent weeks – including one in the victory at Tottenham last time around.
And Almiron, a £21 million signing in 2019 [Mirror], was on the scoresheet again today with a wonderful goal.
And here’s how Gary Lineker reacted to it on Twitter:

The South American really is becoming such a massive player for the St James’s Park outfit – and completely out of nowhere, too.
During the summer, Almiron was linked with a transfer away from Newcastle and you won’t have found many supporters sobbing at the thought of him leaving.
That’s because much of his career in the North East had been rather lukewarm to say the least.
But credit to Howe for transforming him and if Almiron continues this purple patch for much of the campaign, well you simply can’t write off Newcastle regarding Champions League qualification.
