Tottenham Hotspur beat Burnley 2-1 this afternoon thanks to a winning goal from Danny Rose.

Tottenham Hotspur made it our wins in the last six Premier League games on Sunday evening as they beat Burnley 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

Spurs had beaten Hull City 3-0 in midweek and faced another recently promoted side on Sunday as Burnley – who had picked up just one goal and one point on the road this season – came to town.

The Clarets shockingly took the lead at White Hart Lane as Ashley Barnes gave Burnley a 1-0 lead after 21 minutes, but Dele Alli responded just six minutes later with the equaliser for Tottenham.

Burnley held strong for the first 25 minutes of the second half, but Danny Rose did strike in the 71st minute to give Spurs the lead – and that goal proved to be the winner for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

With Arsenal losing 2-1 at Manchester City on Sunday evening, Spurs are now just one point behind their North London rivals and subsequently one point off a Champions League place.

A number of players impressed against Burnley, but there’s no doubting who stole the show, as left back Danny Rose turned in a superb performance even if you discount his winning goal.

The 26-year-old England international has been one of Tottenham’s most improved players under Pochettino, and he was particularly impressive against Burnley on Sunday evening.

After the final whistle, Tottenham fans took to Twitter to praise Rose, crediting Pochettino with much of the left back’s success and improvement over the last two years, stating that he has had a ‘sensational and meteoric rise’ under Pochettino.

Many suggested that Rose is the best left back in the Premier League and possibly in Europe too, even claiming that they wouldn’t swap him for anybody else in his position right now.

Others told Manchester City to pay huge money if they want to sign Rose, as he’s now one of the first names on the teamsheet at Tottenham having been excellent both defensively and going forward against Burnley.
