Speaking on the Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Gary Lineker has been heaping praise upon Mohamed Salah.
The Match of the Day lads were tasked with ranking the 10 greatest winners of the PFA Player of the Year award, and inevitably, Salah was in and around the top of the list.
Lineker was full of praise for the Liverpool star, stating that he’s exceeded any and all expectations that anyone had of him when he arrived in England.
However, the pundit conceded that one man could see his ability from day one – Micah Richards.
What’s been said?
Lineker and Richards spoke about Salah.
“Mo Salah, what a sensation he’s been for Liverpool. I don’t think any of us thought he would be this good when he arrived. Except for you Micah, you played with him and you saw that talent and you’ve said before that you could see that level,” Lineker said.
“Straight away, I knew because he was always in the right position to score goals. He could dribble and he was fast and all that. He would score like 10 goals in training, one minute you thought you had him and the next he’s just there,” Richards said.

How did Chelsea miss it?
It’s no surprise to hear that Richards could see Salah’s ability from the start, but we can’t help but wonder how Chelsea didn’t spot his ability.
Salah is now, rightly, considered one of the greatest players in Premier League history, but somehow, Chelsea failed to capitalise on his talent and they let him go very prematurely.
The Egyptian has since won a PFA Player of the Year award, and he’s on track to win another this season.
Salah certainly belongs in the pantheon of Premier League greats.
