Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham ended a four-match winning run, leaving goalkeeper Senne Lammens frustrated that the team couldn’t extend their streak.

Lammens has been a regular in the United lineup since his deadline day arrival at the start of the 2025/26 season, quickly becoming a trusted presence in goal.

Despite a season marked by ups and downs—including Ruben Amorim’s sacking in January—Lammens has provided some much-needed stability at the back.

He’s been a clear step up from both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. Onana, currently out on loan at Trabzonspor, is expected to be moved on permanently this summer.

Since Carrick took over as interim boss until the end of the season, he hasn’t considered changing his number one. Lammens has rewarded that faith with two clean sheets in five appearances under Carrick’s watch.

The Belgian was unable to add another clean sheet on Tuesday night as West Ham held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

The visitors had their chances to snatch all three points against Michael Carrick’s side late on but were unable to find another breakthrough after Marcus Rashford’s penalty had levelled things up following Lucas Paqueta’s opener for David Moyes’ side.

“It wasn’t an easy game,” said Lammens when speaking to MUTV after full-time. “They didn’t get that many chances so it was quite boring for me.”

Lammens made a pair of solid saves against the Hammers, but the Belgian wasn’t satisfied with how United played overall and regretted missing the chance to extend their winning run to five games.

It was a busy evening for Lammens in terms of touches (29) on the ball, but there was little he could do when Tomas Soucek scored as West Ham took advantage of Luke Shaw’s shoddy defending.

After the final whistle, Lammens spoke to Manchester Evening News and pointed out that United’s lack of cutting edge in attack was what cost them two points.

Lammens said United needed more from their forward line after a sluggish start at London Stadium left them chasing the game early on.

“Still a bit disappointed and felt like we didn’t really play the way we should have, especially in the first half, we didn’t create as much,” Lammens said.

“I think we needed to be more sharp with the ball. “We needed to create more. Of course, when you score in the end and still get a point, it’s always a bit better, but still, the overall feeling is a bit disappointing for us.”

Carrick will look to steady things quickly when United face Everton next time out in the Premier League.
