Senne Lammens only joined Manchester United in September, but he did not shy away from picking the top finisher at the club.

After completing a summer switch from Royal Antwerp to Manchester United, Senne Lammens became Ruben Amorim’s first-choice goalkeeper, as Andre Onana left for Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.

Although he has received high praise from Sir Alex Ferguson, it is still early in his time at Old Trafford, and some challenges are expected along the way.

His first defeat with the club came this past Monday when Everton edged United 1-0. Now, he will be looking to bounce back with a strong performance against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Senne Lammens says Bruno Fernandes is the best finisher in the squad

Lammens, still adjusting to life at Manchester United, is taking his time getting to know the squad and Amorim’s coaching team.

He is one of five new signings this season and recently featured on the club’s Inside Carrington podcast.

During the episode, the goalkeeper talked about how he looked up to Cristiano Ronaldo and Roy Keane growing up

He was also asked who he thinks is the best finisher in the current squad.

While Bryan Mbeumo leads the team with six goals so far this season, Lammens picked Bruno Fernandes as the most clinical player at United.

“Yeah, I think the skipper (Bruno Fernandes) is probably the best one. Yeah, left and right. He also likes to joke with me that in training, he always gets goals against me,” Lammens stated.

Fernandes has been playing deeper in midfield this season under Amorim, which means he has not been getting forward as much as he used to.

Even so, he has still managed two goals and three assists in 12 league matches, while missing a pair of penalties.

Bruno Fernandes’ most recent goal for Manchester United

In terms of club football, Fernandes has found the net twice in 2025/26, with his last goal coming in United’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea back in September.

That strike marked his 100th goal for the club, but he has not scored since then.

Fernandes will be looking to get back on track when United face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Across 10 meetings with Crystal Palace, he has only scored twice against them.
