Sunderland non-executive director David Jones has criticised co-owner Charlie Methven on Twitter for his controversial comments about the club back in April.
During an interview with Sasikumar Ramu on YouTube in April, Methven made some rather interesting and controversial comments about former Sunderland manager Chris Coleman and the prospect of selling the Black Cats.
The interview has been doing the rounds this week, and Sunderland non-executive director Jones has given his take on his comments.
Jones has also said that he is “more positive than ever” that he can make a difference at the League One club.
Staying positive
With the League One season called early due to the global health crisis, Sunderland have failed to finish in the playoffs.
This means that the Black Cats will have to start their quest to return to the Championship all over again next season.
The Stadium of Light faithful should stay positive and optimistic about next season, and perhaps the team will clinch automatic promotion to the second tier of English football.
Sunderland are a massive club, and perhaps in the coming years they will be back in the Premier League.
