Derby County made a peculiar decision back in August when they decided to loan striker Chris Martin out to Fulham.
Returning boss Steve McClaren made clear he did not think a lot of the decision made by predecessor Nigel Pearson, telling The BBC he would like to bring him back.
Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has been reluctant to allow this to happen, with Martin a first team regular for the London side.

Yet over the past week it has not been going so well for the striker.
Martin missed a crucial last minute penalty in Fulham’s 1-0 defeat to Reading last night, seeing his effort saved and costing his side two points in the process.
It came just days after his penalty miss in the clash against rivals QPR at the weekend, although he at least made up for that by going on to net an equaliser in the 1-1 draw later in the game.

Last night there was no time for a reprieve, and his miss cost Fulham a chance to move from ninth into seventh – above Martin’s Derby County on goal difference. Now they sit five points back from the play-offs instead of three.
