Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set an asking price for Toby Alderweireld.

According to HLN, Tottenham Hotspur could sell Toby Alderweireld for £44 million in the summer.
Tottenham have reportedly walked away from contract talks with Alderweireld, leaving the Belgian international’s future in doubt.
Spurs would reportedly accept offers of around £44 million for the central defender, and that would have to be seen as a good price.
Alderweireld is 29, with little re-sale value, and only a year left on his contract.

However, by offloading Alderweireld they would surely be sending out the wrong message to the rest of their squad.
Tottenham’s move to their new stadium was supposed to be the turning point in them paying big wages, and competing off the field with their Premier League rivals.

However, if Spurs move into their new home, after losing their best defender it would be hugely frustrating.
And if there is a way for Spurs to re-start contracts talks, they must do everything in their power to get Alderweireld tied down for the long-term.
