Tottenham Hotspur should consider making a move for the Roma ace, if they sell the Belgian.

Daniel Levy has forged a fearsome reputation within the game during his time spent as chairman of Tottenham, with his negotiating skills being up there with the very best in the business.
And there could be a scenario this season where Levy could work his magic yet again…
According to a report from the Express, Spurs star Toby Alderweireld’s future in north London is uncertain to say the least, and the Belgian could be sold to Manchester United for around £60 million – not bad business for Tottenham, considering the fact that he is on the wrong side of 29.

If Alderweireld does leave, Tottenham will obviously have to bring in an able-bodied replacement, and a fantastic option for them could be Roma ace Kostas Manolas, who has a €36 million (£31.7 million) release clause inserted into his current contract with the Serie A outfit, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Greek centre-back is two years younger than the Belgium international, and is widely considered to be one of the best central defenders in world football.

Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Manolas is strong in the air, and plays with a certain kind of tenacity and aggression that makes him ideally suited to the robust nature of the Premier League.
Tottenham are a club who need to cut their cloth accordingly, especially with their expensive move to their new stadium, so the opportunity of making close to a £30 million profit by selling Alderweireld, and signing Manolas, is one that that they should not hesitate to grasp.
