Aaron Lennon is linked with Burnley and Kevin Mirallas with Olympiacos – how would Everton replacing them with Arsenal’s Theo Walcott improve the Toffees?

Two wingers could be on their way out of Everton during the January transfer window, with the Daily Mail reporting interest from Burnley in Aaron Lennon while Olympiacos and Galatasaray want Kevin Mirallas.

Both players are now 30-years-old and although Lennon has featured consistently since Sam Allardyce took charge as manager on November 30, the Englishman is out of contract at the end of the season.

The Clarets want cover for the injured Robbie Brady and are prepared to give the Toffees star a two-and-a-half year contract – something he is unlikely to receive at Goodison Park.

Mirallas, meanwhile, has not made a single appearance under Allardyce and previously admitted to Greek media, as reported by Sky Sports, that he was disappointed a summer move to former club Olympiacos did not materialise.

While losing two wide men would not usually be ideal for the Merseysiders, they are looking to replace the duo with Arsenal’s Theo Walcott in a move that would be a significant step forwards for the club.

Walcott has played just 47 minutes of Premier League football and made 13 first team appearances in total this season having fallen out-of-favour under boss Arsene Wenger.

Yet the England international still has a huge amount to offer, especially to a struggling attack that Allardyce is desperate to improve, having scored 108 goals in 396 games for Wenger’s men despite playing the majority of his career on the right wing.

Mirallas looks to be surplus to requirements and Lennon is a solid performer, but with Walcott entering his prime years at 28-years-old, he could help take Everton to the next level.
