The striker is being linked with a permanent summer exit from West Ham United.
West Ham are looking to sell Jordan Hugill permanently to Middlesbrough this summer, according to a report from the Northern Echo, and expect to receive somewhere in the region of £10 million for the striker.
The former Preston North-End hitman has been nothing short of a flop for the Hammers, so if the east London outfit get anywhere £10 million for his services, it would have to be considered as excellent business from them.
The 26-year-old only made three appearances for West Ham, failing to chalk up either a goal or an asset, and his loan spell at Boro hasn’t been much better, with just seven goals and two assists to his name in 34 appearances in all competitions.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini will surely be looking to bolster his attacking ranks in the summer, and selling Hugill for £10 million would be a great place to start his forward-line revamp at the end of the season.
The Middlesbrough-born hitman is a decent Championship striker, but it is clearly evident that the jump up to the Premier League was just too much for him, and there will not be too many West Ham fans who would be sad to see him leave the London Stadium in the summer.
