Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose is said to be of interest to both Schalke and PSG.

Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur looks on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on November 5, 2017 in London, England.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are still hopeful of getting £50 million for Danny Rose before the end of the transfer window, and if they manage to then Daniel Levy will deserve some credit.

Levy has come under fire from Spurs fans this summer over what has been a perceived lack of investment.

Tottenham failed to make even one signing, but if Spurs can fetch £50 million for Rose then it will still be remarkable business.

Tottenham are hopeful that either Schalke or, more realistically, PSG will pay the large fee for the left-back, who has barely made an impact for over a year.

Rose was once one of the finest left-backs in the Premier League, but controversial comments and injury have knocked him down the pecking order at Spurs.

At most clubs, Rose’s value would have plummeted, with some doubts still remaining over his fitness.

But if Levy has managed to ensure that Rose’s price-tag stays at £50 million, then it would still be an excellent piece of business for Spurs to get that sort of money for a player who is effectively a reserve for them now.
