Glasgow Rangers defender Bruno Alves could reportedly be out of Ibrox and out of Graeme Murty’s team.
Bruno Alves arrived at Rangers in the summer of 2017 amid hype and expectation, but the Portugal international has failed to make a huge impact at Ibrox so far this season.
Alves has had injury issues – he is on the sidelines at the moment – and his overall performances when he has played have not been great.
It now seems that the 36-year-old central defender’s time at Rangers is coming to an end.
According to The Daily Record, Italian club Benevento and Rangers have reached an agreement, and all that is left for the transfer to go through is Alves agreeing personal terms with the Serie A outfit.
Rangers manager Graeme Murty could be about to make a smart transfer decision in the January transfer window.
With the emergence of Ross McCrorie, the return from injury of David Bates and the signing of Russell Martin on loan from Norwich City in the Championship in England, Graeme Murty’s side could do without defender Alves.
Alves’s experience and know-how would be great for Rangers in the second half of the season, but it would not be a bad idea for the Ibrox club to get him off their books in the January transfer window and get some transfer fee.
