Newcastle United have put Adam Armstrong on the market this summer.
Armstrong may not have proven himself in Newcastle’s first-team yet, but his brilliant form at League One clearly shows that the youngster is a big talent.
Armstrong has torn apart the third tier on multiple occasions now, and was a major reason why Blackburn Rovers were able to get promoted this season.
The Newcastle academy graduate joined Tony Mowbray’s side in January, and hit nine goals in 21 appearances, despite often playing on the wing.
At the age of 21, Armstrong still has time on his side – and Newcastle may be selling him prematurely.
If Armstrong does go on to fulfil his potential, he may just turn into a striker who could have been used in Newcastle’s first-team.
And although he appears some way from Benitez’s squad right now, offloading a player of his talent permanently has to be considered a risk for Newcastle.
