Former Celtic defender Saidy Janko has completed a move to Portuguese giants FC Porto on Wednesday afternoon, where he has signed a new four-year contract – and Hoops fans have reacted on Twitter.
Janko, 22, joined Celtic from Manchester United’s youth team back in the summer of 2015, but the Switzerland youth international managed just 19 appearances with the Scottish champions.

Indeed, Brendan Rodgers deemed the former Bolton Wanderers loanee as surplus to requirements after joining the club in the summer of 2016 – replacing Ronny Deila.
He joined English side Barnsley on a season-long loan, before leaving Parkhead permanently to join French Ligue 1 side St. Etienne, where he was installed as the club’s first choice right-back.
But the signing of former Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy saw Janko drop down the pecking order, leaving him to make just 22 appearances for Les Verts during 2017-18. However, Porto saw enough to land the right-back.

Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Janko has joined Porto, who won the Portuguese league last season and could face the Hoops in the Champions League next season.
One fan asked whether Celtic have a “sell-on clause”, while the majority were in disbelief that a player of Janko’s quality has joined one of the biggest footballing institutions in Europe.
