Eddie Nketiah has reportedly told Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta that he wants out in January.
The 22-year-old striker is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium next summer.
And with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette ahead of him in the pecking order, Nketiah is unlikely to play a lot during the second half of the campaign.
The Daily Mail has reported that the club’s academy hitman has told Arsenal that he would prefer to go.
The Gunners now must decide whether to cash in on him in January or keep him until the summer and lose him on a free.
And some Arsenal fans want him sold to avoid losing him on a Bosman.
Here’s how they reacted to The Mail‘s report:
Makes sense
Nketiah has scored twice in two Carabao Cup games under Arteta this season.
But the fact that he hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League is very ominous, it has to be said.
Arsenal valued him at £15 million this past summer but really, Arteta and Edu haven’t got a hope of getting that same figure this time around.
With six months left on his contract, the North Londoners have virtually no bargaining power and they’ll have to take what is given.
As mentioned, they could of course just keep him for the rest of his deal, but losing one of their own for free wouldn’t be a great look and if Nketiah is serious about going, selling up makes sense.
