Liverpool midfielder did not impress against Swansea.

The headlines were ready: ‘Captain Can-tastic’, ‘Yes he Can’… except the German midfielder’s night with the Liverpool armband turned into disaster.
Fresh of their 4-3 victory over Manchester City, Liverpool slipped up against relegation strugglers Swansea City.
Emre Can was superb against City in a game where his principle role was as a destroyer, but against Swansea it was the opposition who sat back, and the German’s limitations in possession shone through.

Can’s future at Liverpool is unclear, with Juventus keen to sign him at the end of the season.
The midfielder’s contract expires in June and Can could leave Liverpool for free.
Fans were keen to avoid this happening after the City game, now the pendulum has swung back the other way.
An off night is acceptable once in a while, and Can was not the only Liverpool under-performer, there were a team full of them.
But he is the one who is under the spotlight after he has let his contract run down, and his game was summed up by a wild volley in injury time which ballooned over.
Liverpool supporters were not impressed. Here is a look at the reaction on Twitter to his performance…
