Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Jurgen Klopp intends to keep faith in Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Telegraph report that Liverpool may simply opt against signing a Gini Wijnaldum replacement and just look closer to home instead.
Both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain have been heavily injury-prone during their days on Merseyside.
And given that this ageing Liverpool side needs refreshing, the Anfield faithful would like to see players, such as Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain moved on.
There’s no doubt that both players have the quality to thrive in this Liverpool side, but you cannot do that from the treatment room.
And if they continue their ways next season then they are just extra luggage on an aircraft that had a very bumpy flight and landing this season.
Change is needed from somewhere, yes certain injured players will return next term, but refreshment across the pitch, even with a handful of players has to happen.
Liverpool don’t want to be in a situation where they regret not bringing players in by the time the 2021/22 season has started. They have already gone through that!
