Don Hutchison has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that West Ham United have made a bid for Burnley defender James Tarkowski.

According to The Times, West Ham have made a bid of £22 million for Tarkowski.

The report has added that Burnley are looking for £50 million to sell the 27-year-old England international defender this summer.

Sky Sports have reported that the Hammers’ offer for the former Brentford star is worth more than £20 million.

Former West Ham midfielder Hutchison has given his take on the Hammers’ reported bid for the 27-year-old.

Good signing for West Ham United?

West Ham had defensive problems last season, with David Moyes’s side conceding 62 goals in 38 Premier League matches.

The Hammers need better players at the back, and having been a success in the Premier League and with his wealth of experience, Tarkowski would make the London club stronger defensively.

Meanwhile, former Fulham and Queens Park Rangers forward Rodney Marsh has praised Mark Noble for his post on Twitter on West Ham’s decision to sell Grady Diangana.

West Bromwich Albion have signed Diangana on a permanent contract from West Ham, with the 22-year-old winger having spent the last season on loan at The Hawthorns.
