Jamie Carragher has told Jesse Marsch ‘see you next season’ at Leeds United, as he told CBS Sports.

The Sky pundit asked the unemployed boss whether he will get the ‘pleasure’ of seeing him next season at Leeds and the American stated that he is enjoying his ‘free’ time, at this moment.

It’s not yet known whether Marcelo Bielsa will be at Elland Road next season, so the Yorkshire club are planning ahead.

The Daily Mail report that if Bielsa heads for the exit door, then Marsch will be the club’s number one target.

This was the exchange between Marsch and Carragher about the Leeds job and how he could be in the Premier League next season.

“It’s a pleasure speaking to you,” Carragher said to Marsch. “Are we going to get this pleasure next season because you are coming to Leeds, aren’t you?”

Marsch responded: “You have been reading the newspapers and Twitter too much, Jamie.

“I am enjoying being unemployed. Let’s just say that. I am enjoying free time.”

Carragher added: “Thanks, see you next season.”

If Bielsa does leave, then the individual that has to fill his boots will be in for a tough ride.

The Argentine has well and truly punched above Leeds United’s weight, not in terms of the size of the club, but the quality of players that were at the club when he first joined.

Quite a number of these players were struggling midtable in England’s second-tier not so long ago, yet Bielsa has them performing week in and week out in the Premier League.

Marsch would be an appointment that would make sense because these Leeds players are now used to this all-action style under Bielsa and the recently-sacked RB Leipzig coach likes his players to put their foot on the accelerator also.
