Robin Olsen has revealed that he’s desperate for Everton to sign him on a permanent basis, when his loan from AS Roma expires.

The 42-cap Sweden international arrived at Goodison Park on a season-long loan from Rome back in October.

Since then, the 31-year-old has had to be patient with Jordan Pickford acting as Carlo Ancelotti’s outright No.1.

However, Olsen has still started four Premier League games, while also making two FA Cup starts and one Carabao Cup start.

Now, settled on Merseyside with his young family, the shot-stopper has told Everton’s official website that he’d like to stay.

Olsen said: “We want to stay, but it is not me who decides. I can only cross my fingers and see what the Club says. As a family, we have moved around and feel we are in a good place now.

“We are very happy, so why not stay until it is time to move home to Sweden? That is what we would choose. It is easy to say that – but everything needs to be sorted out.”

In our view, he deserves to stay at Goodison Park.

The Swede has proven himself to be a solid option in between the sticks, and one who seems a lot less prone to errors than Jordon Pickford.

Olsen has kept two clean sheets in seven appearances this season, while also conceding nine goals.

Having cost AS Roma just €8.5 million (£7.5 million), you also wouldn’t expect the former FC Copenhagen glovesman to be too expensive for the Toffees.

With all things considered, Olsen has done enough to be signed permanently, in our view.
