Fulham are reportedly set to finalise the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk star Manor Solomon for £7m, with the Israeli international recently wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham.
According to the Daily Mail, the second-tier English side are close to completing a deal to sign the 22-year-old attacker, who last month fled Ukraine following Russia’s invasion to Poland.
Solomon is set to become the latest Shakhtar player to leave the club, with Tete recently joining Olympique Lyonnais and numerous other Ukrainian-based players also making the decision to leave their clubs amid the invasion from Russia.
Indeed, the 22-year-old was one of the highest-rated players in the Ukrainian Premier League, with TeamTalk reporting that Tottenham and Aston Villa were chasing Solomon, as well as Arsenal according to Sport Arena.
However, it is Fulham who will win the race for Solomon, with the Championship side signing the Israel star, who the Jerusalem Post described as ‘otherworldly’, as a replacement for Fabio Carvahlo, who is set to join Liverpool this summer.
Blessed with pace and a deft touch on the ball, Solomon is an exceptional talent and a player not many would have expected Fulham to sign, yet with the Cottagers set for Premier League promotion, the winger is a statement signing from Marco Silva’s side.
Arsenal and Spurs will be baffled by how Fulham won Solomon race

Given Solomon’s grave situation and his 25-hour journey to Poland to escape Ukraine, it is perhaps easy to understand, from a human aspect, why the player and Shakhtar are working quickly to finalise the winger’s move to Fulham.
However, for Arsenal and Tottenham, they will be questioning how they allowed such an exciting talent to slip through their fingers to a second-tier side, who in all likelihood could be relegated come this time next year.
