Sebastian Larsson has been with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light since 2011.

Sebastian Larsson has admitted to the Sunderland Echo that he has still not decided over his future at the Stadium of Light.

Larsson’s contract at Sunderland is due to expire at the end of the season, and it is not known whether the Swedish international will be handed new terms.

The 31-year-old has been with Sunderland for six years, but his recent form has not been particularly impressive.

Larsson has unperformed as Sunderland barely put up a fight against relegation.

But the poor campaign does not appear to have entirely put Larsson off sticking around on Wearside.

“I have focused everything on doing my best when I got back from injury,” the midfielder said when asked about his future.

“Everyone knows my contract is up and I will decide my future during the summer.

“I have enjoyed every season here, which might seem strange, but I have enjoyed my time here.

“I am sure there will be discussions during the summer. Now is not the right time to talk about what the future holds – it’s not about me.”

Larsson has made 19 appearances for Sunderland in the Premier League this season, but failed to provide either a goal or an assist.

Larsson started for Sunderland in their last match, which they lost 2-0 to Swansea City at the weekend.

The Black Cats now have just two games remaining this season – against Arsenal and Chelsea.
