Sebastian Larsson has admitted to the Chronicle that he is yet to decide over his Sunderland future.

Larsson’s contract at Sunderland is set to expire at the start of next month, but he has been offered new terms at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland would like the 31-year-old to stay with them, as they aim to get promoted from the Championship next campaign.

However, Larsson has interest from other teams, and the midfielder has admitted that he will have to have a long think about his future after the international break.

“I am not looking to downsize,” Larsson, who is currently in the Sweden squad, said.

“But I do not know any more than that now. We will see what are the options later this summer, and we will choose the best.

“What I can say is that I feel very, very motivated to carry on and at the highest level I have the opportunity to do so.

“I do not know exactly what the options are today. But whatever options I have, I will do what is the absolute best in terms of football.

“I just talked to my agent a little bit and agreed that we will look at it after the internationals.

“I have no answer to what is going to happen yet.”

Sweden have matches on Friday and Tuesday, before Larsson’s attention will return to club matters.

Larsson struggled at Sunderland over the past campaign, with the experienced midfielder not showing his best form.

The former Birmingham and Arsenal man made 21 appearances in the Premier League for the Black Cats, but failed to score and only provided one assist.
