Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson’s contract at the Stadium of Light is set to expire at the end of the season.
Sebastian Larsson has once again hinted in the Chronicle that his future may lie away from Sunderland.
Larsson suggested earlier in the week (Chronicle) that he could leave the Stadium of Light in coming months.
And when asked about his future earlier today, the Swedish international admitted that there were no guarantees that he would be playing for the Wearsiders next term.
“I feel motivated and hungry, but where that will be we’ll have to wait and see. I’m not too stressed about it,” Larsson said.
“You’ve got to keep your options open. I’ve loved England throughout my career. The Premier League has been great for me. Obviously, I wouldn’t be against playing in England, but you have to keep your options open.
“I’ll have a look in the summer, see what’s available and make a decision from there.”
Larsson’s contract at Sunderland expires at the end of the season, and he is yet to be presented with new terms.
Larsson has struggled to hit top form this term, and he has failed to contribute either a goal or an assist in 16 Premier League appearances.
The 31-year-old is one of a number of Sunderland players whose futures are uncertain, with David Moyes’ side’s Premier League status insecure.
Sunderland are currently sat at the bottom of the table, and are seven points adrift of safety with time running out for the Black Cats to save themselves.
