Liverpool FC defender Sebastian Caceres has told The Sun that he is flattered by reported interest from Arsenal.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are interested in signing Caceres from Uruguayan club Liverpool FC in the summer transfer window.

The British tabloid has also claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the 18-year-old central defender.

Caceres has responded to speculation that Arsenal want him, with the teenager stating that it is flattering.

The talented and promising young defender has also stated that he admired Liverpool legend and former England international midfielder Steven Gerrard, who is now in charge of Scottish Premiership club Glasgow Rangers.

Caceres told The Sun regarding interest from Arsenal: “This was flattering to hear this as they are a top team. I don’t know much about their new manager but I watch Arsenal a lot as I like the style of football.

“To play in the Premier League would be a dream for me as my ambitions are firstly to play in Europa and then play a World Cup with the Uruguay first team.”

“I like the Premier League a lot because it’s the league that is the most competitive in Europe,” added the youngster.

“[Steven] Gerrard was the player I admired, I like how he played, not in my position – but was a leader like me and like I try to be.”

Steven Gerrard shakes hands with Dave King as he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Promising young talent

Caceres is a very good and talented young defender, and it would not come as a surprise if Arsenal do make a move for him in the summer transfer window.

Although the Liverpool FC centre-back would not be able to break into Unai Emery’s starting lineup rightaway, he is one for the future and could flourish in the Premier League in the coming years.
