Sean Strickland turned UFC Freedom 250’s already chaotic White House fight week into another spectacle by showing up at the fan fest despite claiming he had been blocked from the event.
The UFC middleweight champion had spent the build-up saying he was banned or not cleared, while Dana White publicly pushed back and said Strickland was simply not on a limited guest list.
Either way, Strickland went to Washington, D.C., and the result was exactly as messy as fans expected.

As MMA Orbit showed, Strickland was filmed being taken away from the UFC Freedom 250 fan fest by police after arriving at the event.
Strickland later joked about the aftermath, saying: “I may have been charged with disorderly conduct. I don’t know what that is but it sounds cool.”
He also thanked supporters who had backed him during the controversy: “Anyways, I just want to thank you fans. I can’t thank you guys enough. After being banned, you guys riding, supporting me, it means a lot to me.”
Reports said Strickland got inside the fan-fest area near the White House, briefly entered a wrestling ring, and was then escorted out by security and police. He was not reported to have been arrested, but he said he may face a disorderly conduct issue.
The reason for his exclusion has been disputed. Strickland claimed he was not cleared because of his outspoken political comments. White denied an official ban, arguing that attendance was restricted because of space and invitation limits.

Strickland’s stunt fit the strange atmosphere around UFC Freedom 250.
The event was staged around the White House and the Ellipse as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, with the card also landing on Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
Thousands of ticketed guests were expected near the South Lawn, while far more fans gathered outside for the fan-fest atmosphere, activations, and viewing areas.
The production had already drawn attention for its scale, politics, and security demands. Strickland arriving after a week of public back-and-forth only added another combustible layer.
For the UFC, it was an unwanted distraction before a historic show. For Strickland, it was pure brand identity: defiant, messy, and impossible to ignore.
