The midfielder has seen his chances limited at Queens Park Rangers, but has since moved to St Johnstone on loan.

Recently departed Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sean Goss has spoken of his frustrating time at the club, as he embarks on a new journey in the Scottish Premiership

Goss has struggled to break into QPR’s first-team plans and is having his second loan spell north of the border, making his St Johnstone debut on Sunday.

The 2-0 defeat to Celtic was not the ideal start, but for Goss it is about getting all-important game time.

“It’s been a frustrating time for me this season and I haven’t really played so it was nice to get some minutes under my belt. I probably wasn’t expecting to play 80 minutes but I was more than happy to,” Goss told football.london.

The former Manchester United youngster signed for the Perthshire Saints on loan until the end of the season, after enduring a mixed spell at Rangers last season. It will be a pivotal time in Goss’s career, with his time at Loftus Road seemingly up.

Goss made a strong start to his Ibrox career but faded drastically towards the end of the campaign, and the central midfielder will want to add more consistency and fluidity to his game this time around.

From QPR’s perspective, a strong and impressive spell could potentially see manager Steve McClaren give Goss another chance next season, but certain factors will determine that.

The player himself will want assurances of first-team football, and it is hard to envisage it currently in west London, but a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.

For now, it is clear that Goss is going to enjoy a good run of games and, if he can make a lasting impression and help his new teammates finish as strongly possible, it will only benefit him in the long run.
