Sean Dyche has praised Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson for his second goal against Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

The Everton boss has told BBC Sport that he was impressed by the way that Wilson scored his second goal for Newcastle.

Eddie Howe’s side hammered Everton 4-1 away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

Wilson scored two goals.

The £20 million (Sky Sports) England international striker found the back of the net first in the 28th minute.

The 31-year-old scored again in the 75th minute when he curled a brilliant 25-yard effort into the top corner.

And Dyche was impressed.

Dyche said: “We are not finding the big moments in the final third. It is still a work in progress.

“Wilson whacks one in the corner, no thought, they are just playing with freedom and we need to find that freedom.”

HITC Verdict: Impressive

In our view, Callum Wilson played well for Newcastle United against Everton.

The England international striker is not actually guaranteed a place in the Newcastle starting lineup, but he is taking his chances well and is making a point to Howe.

The 31-year-old has made 17 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle this season.

Wilson has scored 13 goals and given four assists in those games.

The striker has a big role to play for Newcastle in the final weeks of the season, as the Magpies aim to finish in the top four of the Premier League and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
