Burnley boss Sean Dyche has suggested to BBC Sport that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane was not at his best yesterday.
Spurs may have won 1-0, with Kane flicking the ball on for Heung-Min Son to score the winner, but he didn’t really test Nick Pope.
And although Dyche says that the England captain is brilliant, he also feels that Kane wasn’t quite as destructive as he can be last night.
“I think he has had better nights to be fair,” Dyche resonded, when asked how impressed he was by Kane’s display. “He is a top player and top players do the right things and make the right decisions.”
Despite Dyche not being particularly impressed, Kane actually put in an important performance for his side.

Kane may not have had the same attacking influence he usually does, but he showed other areas of his game last night.
The powerful forward cleared a header off the line for Tottenham, with his brilliant piece of defensive work turning out to prove crucial.
Kane now incredibly has eight assists for the season already and is enjoying a remarkable run of form for Jose Mourinho’s side, who have just moved up to fifth in the Premier League standings.
