Leeds United visit Turf Moor in a League Cup clash tonight.
Sean Dyche has admitted to Burnley’s official website that Leeds United have had a “really good start” this season.
Leeds take on Dyche’s side at Turf Moor tonight hoping to reach the next round of the League Cup.
Thomas Christiansen’s troops are top of the Championship in what has been an outstanding start to life in England for the 44-year-old, who replaced Garry Monk in the summer.
The Whites hadn’t conceded a goal in 636 minutes of league football before going down 1-0 at Millwall on Saturday – their first defeat in the Championship – and the Clarets boss acknowledges that United are a force to be reckoned with.
“Leeds have had a really good start with the obvious blip at the weekend,” he told the club’s official website. “Their challenge is obvious; a big club trying to get back into the big league.
“There’s a real shift there in expectation now that they’re top of the league.
“I know they had a result that went against them on Saturday but I think there will be a real shift in expectations.”
Burnley are also going great guns in their division, with the Clarets seventh in the Premier League.
As a result, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Dyche rest a number of his heavy hitters in preparation for Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield Town
