Sean Dyche comments suggest he wants Leeds-linked Tom Heaton to stay

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has been linked with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has told Sky Sports that he will not sell any of his first-team goalkeepers, and that will be of interest to Leeds United.

According to a recent report in The Sun, Tom Heaton will consider a move to Leeds in the January transfer window.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper has struggled for playing time at Burnley so far this season, although the former Manchester United prospect – who is valued at €1.2 million (£1.07m) by the CIES Football Observatory – recently started against West Ham United.

Burnley manager Dyche has suggested that he wants Heaton, Nick Pope and Joe Hart in his squad for the second half of the season.

Dyche told Sky Sports: “I like them all and it’s ‘who’s up for the task, who’s ready to play at any given time?’ That’s what I’m here to do, pick a team that can win games.”

When asked on whether or not he can see any of his goalkeepers going out on loan this month, Dyche said: “We’ll see. There’s no reason to at the moment other than their reasons which is that they all want to play, of course.”

No Leeds United move?

Heaton recently told The Burnley Express that he is looking forward to the challenge of keeping Burnley in the Premier League, and combined with Dyche’s comments about keeping hold of his three goalkeepers, it does look like that the former Cardiff City and Bristol City man may not be moving this month.

Leeds need to sign a goalkeeper this month, as Bailey Peacock-Farrell is the only recognised senior player in that position in the Whites’ squad at the moment.
