Everton boss Marco Silva is under increasing pressure.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has told BBC Sport that he thinks a lot more people at Everton to take responsibility for their struggles in order to take pressure off Marco Silva.
Silva took his Everton side to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, and was desperate for a result having lost their last three Premier League games.
It looked like Everton were heading towards a point, but Seamus Coleman picked up a red card, and Burnley took full advantage with a Jeff Hendrick goal.
That condemned Everton to yet another defeat, with the 1-0 loss making it four consecutive defeats for Silva, who is now coming under increasing pressure from fans.
Silva is clinging onto his job at this point, and he needs to come up with some answers during the international break if he’s to remain at Goodison Park for much longer.
Now, Burnley boss Dyche – who was Everton’s top target to replace Ronald Koeman in 2017 according to The Telegraph – has offered his view.
Dyche believes that every manager goes through tough times, but feels more people at Everton need to step up and take responsibility for the poor form, as it can’t just be Silva’s fault.
“I respect all managers and Everton really had a go at winning today,” said Dyche. “I have had my fair share of tough times and most clubs go through it. Every manager has their own way of dealing with problems. They use people around them to do that and I am sure he will be doing that with his players and staff.”
“The manager takes the good and the bad news but there are a lot of people involved to make that happen. It is not just the manager, a lot more people should take responsibility,” he added.
Some players have come in for major criticism this season, which may lead to them being dropped, and if Silva was to go, Dyche may well find his name linked with the job yet again.
