Sean Dyche has admitted that Burnley wanted to sign Robert Snodgrass.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche has told Eurosport that West Ham’s ‘strong financial power’ helped them win the race for winger Robert Snodgrass.
Snodgrass, 29, had emerged as Hull City’s star man this season, notching nine goals and three assists in all competitions this season.

The Scotland international has impressed with his quality out wide as well as his superb delivery from set pieces, with his performances unsurprisingly attracting interest.
Snodgrass would have been out of contract at the end of the season, but Hull activated a 12-month contract extension, keeping him from leaving the club for free this summer.

However, Snodgrass has now left the club, as West Ham confirmed on their official website on Friday evening that the winger had joined them in a £10.2million deal, penning a three-and-a-half year deal with the club.
Snodgrass is in line to make his West Ham debut against Manchester City on Wednesday, but he could have been featuring in the claret and blue of another club, after Burnley attempted to sign him this month.
As reported by The Guardian, Burnley had a bid accepted for Snodgrass last wee, but couldn’t tie up a deal for the Scot as he chose to sign for West Ham instead.
Now, Clarets boss Sean Dyche has told Eurosport that he did speak to Snodgrass but felt a decision to join West Ham was made quickly, noting that the Hammers have ‘strong financial power’ when it comes to signing power.
“It was all the usual things, everyone has to agree,” said Dyche. “I spoke to him only briefly and I think a decision was made quite quick. West Ham are a big club with strong financial power,” he added.
