Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are both said to be chasing Sheffield Wednesday youngster Sean Clare.

Clare has only just broken into Wednesday’s line-up, and his full focus should be on establishing himself at Hillsborough.
The 21-year-old may have made a bright start to life in Wednesday’s starting line-up, but the worst thing he could do right now is buy into the hype.

Talk of a move to Everton and Tottenham is a compliment to Clare’s potential, but a move to either would be too soon for him.
Everton already have the likes of Tom Davies, Kieran Dowell and Beni Baningime breaking through to play in their midfield, while Spurs have a squad packed with talent.

And if Clare was to move to either Everton or Spurs, his first-team chances would surely be limited.
As a result, sticking with Wednesday is Clare’s best option at this stage of his career, as he needs to get experience under his belt before he considers making the step up.
