Everton right-back Seamus Coleman has raved about his teammate Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the club’s official website.

Calvert-Lewin has started the season strongly and has established himself as a key player in manager Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The 23-year-old striker scored against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and bagged a hat-truck against West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park.

According to WhoScored, the former England Under-21 international scored 13 goals and provided one assist in the Premier League for the Toffees last season.

Coleman told Everton’s official website about Calvert-Lewin: “We have Richarlison on the left [of Everton’s front three] working his socks off for 90 minutes creating space. Dominic doesn’t stop working, either.

“He is really benefiting from the quality in the team and I am not surprised how he has applied himself. He is turning into a leader alongside the likes of Mason [fellow 23-year-old, Holgate] and it is important for the young lads to show that leadership.

“He is really driving the team forwards from his number 9 position. We are delighted for him and he will keep working hard, that is not in doubt.”

Important player for Everton

Calvert-Lewin has progressed well under Ancelotti and seems to have taken his game to another level.

The Englishman works hard for the team and is scoring goals regularly, and given that he is only 23 years of age, he can only improve and get better.

The Toffees are aiming to challenge for the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.

For Everton to achieve that feat this season, Calvert-Lewin will have to continue to bang in the goals.

Everton’s next Premier League game is against Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London.
