Everton defender Seamus Coleman has told the club’s official website that Jonjoe Kenny played well against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

Kenny featured for Everton in their Premier League match against Wolves at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The 21-year-old right-back did not start the game, but the youngster came on as a substitute in the 37th minute.

According to WhoScored, the defender took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 84.6%, won one header, and made two tackles.

Kenny actually played at left-back due to the injury suffered by Leighton Baines, and the youngster did well, as he defended strongly and also helped out in attack.

With many of the Everton players failing to shine against Wolves, Kenny was one bright spark in the 3-1 loss.

Everton right-back Coleman has praised Kenny, and told the club’s official website about him: “Jonjoe was prepared to come in, he came in and I thought he did well.

“I think probably enough of us can’t say that we did the same and that’s the biggest disappointment today.”

Future star

Kenny did indeed play well against Wolves, and the 21-year-old right-back is a star in the making.

That the England Under-21 international did well in an unfamiliar role shows just good he is and underlines his potential.
