The Toffees captain and veteran admitted the Premier League side had felt frustration this season.

Everton captain Seamus Coleman has spoken out about the “frustration” within the squad due to their inconsistent Premier League form and outlined his short-term and long-term hopes for the club.
The Toffees have not had the best of seasons this term considering there were ambitions of cracking the top six – as per a Jordan Pickford interview with Sky Sports back in August – as they currently sit 11th in the table.
From 31 games they have won 11 and lost 13, with such solid results as the 2-0 win over Chelsea last time out offset by such disappointing games such as the 3-1 home loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Sky Sports News, the triumph over the Blues was their first win over a top-six side in over two years, their third from their last nine league matches, and Marco Silva’s side have also only won back-to-back league matches once this season, in October.
Speaking after the triumph against Maurizio Sarri’s side, Coleman reiterated the side’s desire to be challenging for the top six in future but stressed that consistency is the immediate target given such a frustrating campaign on that front.

“We are capable of results like the one against Chelsea but it is about being consistent and I think that is the next step for us because we want to be challenging the top six in future,” Coleman, who was signed by David Moyes in 2009, told the official Everton website.
“The frustration this season has come from having one or two good results and performances but then slipping away in the next game. We want to build on these three points and that is the challenge for us now.”
Everton’s next game following the resumption of the Premier League after the international break will be away at West Ham United on Saturday 30 March.
