Andy Hinchcliffe noticed Harry Kane shouting at Pierre Emile Hojbjerg yesterday after he rather wasted a breakaway attempt for Tottenham Hotspur.

Demanding Kane

With Spurs 3-1 up, Hojbjerg charged forward and carried the ball out of defence.

However, with Kane on the overlap he picked the wrong pass and opted to try and release Heung-Min Son rather than Kane.

Son was marked by a Newcastle defender, and ultimately the move lost its impetus after the ball.

And Hinchcliffe noticed that Kane was frustrated with Hojbjerg in the aftermath of the counter.

He said: “Harry Kane is just having a word with Hojbjerg there, saying I was busting a gut to your right.

“He must have screamed at him to wait and wait and play the ball to the right, Harry Kane, and not to Son who had been closed in on and there was no way forward.”

Opening his account

Kane did at least manage to get on the scoresheet yesterday, as he opened his Premier League account for the season.

The Tottenham striker put in a performance which was more of the standard that supporters have come to expect, as he looked a threat throughout.

Kane was constantly running in behind Newcastle’s defence and he got his reward, as he scored a goal and claimed an assist as Spurs picked up the three points.

Tottenham have now moved into fifth place in the Premier League table, and seem to have managed to break out of their mini slump, which caused big concern last month.
