West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Telegraph revealed that an enquiry has been made over the availability of Leicester striker Islam Slimani.

The Baggies’ enquiry was with a view to securing the Algeria international on a season-long loan deal from their Midlands rivals.

Impressively, the ex-Sporting Lisbon striker scored nine goals and set up a further seven in just 18 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco last term.

The Telegraph’s story also mentions that Slimani is being lined up as an alternative to Huddersfield striker Karlan Grant, who scored 19 Championship goals last season.

Slaven Bilic is clearly in need of another centre-forward.

The newly-promoted side have managed to sign last term’s loan hero Callum Robinson on a permanent basis, and he’s hit the ground running with two goals against Chelsea.

However, Bilic only has Hal Robson-Kanu, Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore to provide back-up to the Irishman.

WhoScored shows the trio netted just 23 Championship goals between them last term, which averages out at just over seven goals each – far from prolific, to say the least.

In that respect, it is vital that Bilic and the recruitment team get moving in the market before the deadline on October 5th – just a matter of days away.

Let’s see what the West Brom fans have been saying about the interest in Slimani…
