The Herald in Scotland has claimed that West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti is not in Glasgow to complete a move to Celtic.

This contradicts an earlier report on Skysports.com which had stated that the West Ham striker was in Scotland to secure a loan move to Celtic.

On Monday evening, Sky Sports reported that the 23-year-old Switzerland international striker was in Glasgow, and that he and his agent were finalising terms with the Hoops.

The report added that the youngster was due to undergo a medical with Celtic in the next 24 hours before sealing a season-long loan move.

However, late last night, The Herald in Scotland reported that Ajeti is not in Glasgow for talks, and that he is still in London.

Good signing for Celtic?

While it remains to be seen what happens regarding Ajeti and Celtic, it does seem that the 23-year-old will be a decent addition to Neil Lennon’s squad.

Odsonne Edouard will stay the first-choice striker for Celtic, but Ajeti will compete with Leigh Griffiths for the back-up spot.

The Hoops are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.
