Scottie Scheffler burst back into life during the weather-delayed third round at The Memorial Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Scheffler really struggled during the first two rounds of The Memorial, and at one point on day two he was outside the cut-line.

The 29-year-old world number one battled back admirably, making three birdies in his last six holes to finish up at one-over for the first 36 holes at Muirfield Village.

Scottie Scheffler then went out on Saturday and produced some stunning golf on day three of The Memorial Tournament.

He was two-under par for his round after 14 holes when inclement weather halted play, and he came out on Sunday morning and played his final four holes in two-under to shoot 68.

While the Dallas native may not win this week, he seems to have finally found his swing again.

Ted Scott has been in the news this week, more so than he usually is.

Scheffler berated Scott on the 16th hole on Thursday at The Memorial, after the world number one believed that his caddie misjudged the wind.

In fairness to the 29-year-old, he was obviously just letting off some steam after his frustrations got the better of him.

It was then suggested that there was an atmosphere between Scottie Scheffler and Ted Scott on day two at Muirfield Village.

However, that was well wide of the mark. Ted Scott has experienced a lot worse than what happened on Thursday.

And just before Scheffler teed off on Saturday, Scott made a very interesting comment to his boss on the driving range.

We’re back, your swing looks great right now buddy, Scott said.

And it turns out that he was absolutely right.

Scottie Scheffler’s third round stats at The Memorial Tournament

On day one at Muirfield Village, Scheffler was ranked 67th in strokes gained approach.

Then on day two, he was ranked 27th in the same category.

However, on day three, Scheffler was ranked 2nd in strokes gained approach, having gained 3.526 strokes on the field.

He was ranked 60th in strokes gained off the tee on day two, having lost one stroke on the field with the driver in his hands.

However, he climbed up to 16th on Saturday, gaining 0.597 strokes on the field. Those numbers were heavily impacted by one really poor swing off the 14th tee as well, where he found the water.

Ted Scott clearly knew his man was in sync just before teeing off on Saturday at Muirfield Village.

And even though Scottie Scheffler will almost certainly not win The Memorial this week, he could be very hard to beat at the U.S. Open in two weeks’ time.
