Scottie Scheffler continued his impressive form on the PGA Tour by picking up another win, this time at the Procore Championship in California.

Scheffler closed with a 67 to seal the victory, while Ben Griffin had to settle for second place despite another strong performance.

The world number one was reminded early in the week that he had not won a tournament in California yet, and now he has added that achievement to his growing list.

Looking ahead to the Ryder Cup in two weeks, Scheffler was asked whether the crowds in Napa played any part in helping him get ready for Bethpage.

After his win, Scheffler spoke to the press about the support in Napa and, as usual, was modest in his response.

“Like you said, the crowds were great. We felt so much support from them,” Scheffler remarked.

“There was a lot of noise out there. Our groups were all kind of one part of the golf course out there Thursday and Friday and there was a ton of people out there. It was really fun to be able to play in front of the crowd.

“We heard lots of USA chants and lots of good luck wishes for the Ryder Cup. Yeah, as far as Napa goes, I didn’t really do too much of the winery scene, but it’s a beautiful part of the country. California’s amazing. Every time I come here I love it so much. We had a great week here at the course as well. Yeah, overall it was very fun.”

Scottie Scheffler maintains top-eight streak with Procore win

Beyond securing his sixth TOUR title in back-to-back seasons and joining an exclusive three-man group, Scheffler’s consistency is what really stands out.

He has now gone 15 straight tournaments inside the top eight. It is another sign that we are watching something truly special unfold.

If Scheffler keeps this up into next year, there will be a real argument to be made about it being one of the best individual seasons we have ever seen.
