As the 2025 PGA Tour season came to a close, it was another year that belonged to Scottie Scheffler. The world number one capped off his campaign with six victories.
It is easy to forget now how slowly Scheffler started in 2025. He was coming off a hand injury that had sidelined him for several weeks.
Phil Mickelson went as far as saying the world number one would not win again before the Ryder Cup.
However, he was quickly proven incorrect.

Scheffler ended up with six wins, including titles at both the PGA Championship and The Open. He now only needs a US Open victory to complete the Career Grand Slam.
He also did not finish outside the top 10 in any PGA Tour event after The Players Championship in March.
So it is not exactly a shock that Scheffler pulled off something we have not seen since Tiger Woods in 2000.
The Dallas native has led the scoring averages across all four rounds throughout an entire PGA Tour season. This makes him only the second player in the last four decades to do so, according to Justin Ray.

Remarkably, Scheffler’s annual average remains below 68.5 strokes for each of the four rounds.
It was not just his numbers that stood out. Ricky Castillo praised Scheffler’s mindset after playing alongside him at The CJ CUP Byron Nelson earlier this year and again following The RSM Classic final round.
You can almost guarantee that heading into 2026, he will not be resting on what he has already accomplished.
He will undoubtedly identify many areas for improvement. Even more concerning for his competitors, he is likely to believe that further gains can be made.
