Scottie Scheffler got off to a really good start at the 3M Open on Thursday.
Scheffler posted an opening round of six-under 65 and he is currently sitting just one stroke adrift of the leader, Emiliano Grillo.
The world number one made six birdies and 12 pars during his opening round at TPC Twin Cities.
Scottie Scheffler has experienced a tough season on the PGA Tour in 2026, and he will be eager to record his second win of the year this week.
He played some really solid golf on day one of the 3M Open and he will be more than happy with his day’s work.
Scheffler added the 3M Open to his schedule so that he wouldn’t have a three-week break between The Open Championship and the FedEx Cup playoffs.
And right now, it looks like that was a wise decision.

The 20-time PGA Tour winner spoke to reporters after his opening round at the 3M Open.
Scheffler responded when asked what he made of the crowds at TPC Twin Cities on Thursday.
“Yeah, it was a ton of fun,“ the 30-year-old said.
“Like you said, it was a really good crowd this morning especially for an early tee time. It’s always fun getting to play in front of so many people.
“The crowd support for all three of us in the group today was really nice.“
Scheffler had a huge amount of support on Thursday in Minnesota, especially considering the fact that it was only the first round of the tournament!

Scheffler was asked whether huge crowds drive him to play even better.
“I mean, not really, but it’s more fun I would say playing in front of a big crowd than if there was nobody out there,“ the world number one responded.
“It’s fun to get the support and to hear some cheers. Yeah, I wouldn’t say it’s motivating, but it’s definitely a lot of fun to play in front of people like that.“
Scottie Scheffler will be motivated by one thing and one thing only this week, and that is winning the 3M Open.
If he continues to play like he did on day one throughout the rest of the week, he will have a very good chance of doing just that.
