Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has been linked with moves away, while Patrick Roberts will return to Manchester City in the summer.

Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has revealed to The Daily Record how hard it was for him at Manchester City.

Sinclair was on the books of City from 2012 until 2015, but he failed to make a huge impact at the Citizens.

During his spell at City, the English winger was sent out on loan twice – first to West Bromwich Albion and then to Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old has revealed how hard it was for him at City following his move from Swansea City.

Sinclair has also expressed his delight at regaining his form at Celtic following his switch from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016.

“I was at a stage in my career where I was frustrated I couldn’t show my attributes and what I could do for the team,” Sinclair told The Daily Record. “I’ve come here to Celtic and have managed to show that week in, week out.

“This move has worked out even better than I expected. To score a hat-trick and tie down the league? Words can’t describe how I’m feeling.

“If you’d told me this 18 months ago I would never have believed it. I’ve been asked regularly what I wanted to get out of my move to Celtic and the main thing was to enjoy my football again.

“I had lost that a little. I went to Man City and for two years I didn’t get a sniff, didn’t even make the bench some weeks and was training on my own. As a player it’s mentally draining and can affect you, on and off the field. I dug deep and stuck with it and I’m getting the rewards now.”

It is nice that Sinclair has got back his form and is enjoying his football again, and his struggles at City should be a warning to a couple of his teammates.

Moussa Dembele is 20 years of age and is one of the best young strikers in Europe. Patrick Roberts is also 20 years old and operates as a winger.

Dembele has been linked with moves away from Celtic in the summer transfer window, with The Express claiming that Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are monitoring him.

Roberts is scheduled to return to his parent club Manchester City in the summer when his loan spell at Celtic comes to an end at the end of the season.

Sinclair’s struggles at City should make Dembele think twice before making the move to United or Arsenal if he is not guaranteed playing time.

The Frenchman is only 20 years of age, and it would be a shame if his talent is wasted on the substitutes’ bench.

Roberts has progressed well at Celtic this season, but he will find it tough to break into the first team at City next season.

Perhaps the 20-year-old winger should try to remain at Celtic next season on a loan deal.
